Psychology / Mental Health
We are a psychology clinic offering services to autistic people and other neurodivergent people across Ontario. Our practice is rooted in the neurodiversity-affirming approach to care which recognizes autism as a brain difference.
We offer assessments, therapy, and consultations. We assess children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Assessments can offered virtually or in person (please note some types of assessments need an in person component). We also do neuropsychological assessments. For therapy, we offer individual and group formats.
We work within a range of approaches and bring skills from different modalities. Our clinicians have training in working with neurodivergent groups. Sometimes, we find that we work on changing our patterns of thought when they are unhelpful for us (CBT). Other times, it is more important to focus on having and creating distance from our thoughts in order to live meaningful lives (ACT).
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy allows clients to get back to doing the things that they want to do, need to do, or have difficulty doing in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. We take a holistic approach to work in the areas of mental health, cognitive health and physical health. Each session whether it be virtually or in-person, will be tailored to the client’s needs based on goals and environmental needs, occupation based on areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure, or working with the client and OT using a Psychotherapy focus.
“Occupational therapy is the only profession that helps people across the lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations). Occupational therapy practitioners enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent—or live better with—injury, illness, or disability.” American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
